Hello and goodbye

Hello stars

Over a year ago I started Pretty by Alexa. But I was not satisfied with it so I stopped writing. I won't do it again I promise, but in a way I needed a fresh start. In the past couple of months I've realized that I need to blog. I was so desperate and my brain was coming with new blog post ideas all the time, so at a point I started to write them down on my computer. Now I'm more prepared and ready to start a blog, I have also learned more about blogging, photography and to be honest also english grammar. That's why I decided to start a new blog, Lipsticks and lemonades >> Click here<<
I hope you like it and want to read it :-)

Biker back to school

Hello stars

It seems to me that biker style will never go out of fashion. I think it's a wardrobe must-have and as well a Back to school must-have. Leather biker jackets are perfect for the fall with some black slip-on sneakers, blue jeans and a basic t-shirt. If it looks too edgy, you can always make it softer by styling your favorite biker jacket with feminine pieces. Today many designers offer us fabric jackets which are embellished with cool prints and colors. So if black leather is not something for your taste, you can always try something different.

I found some beautiful biker jackets in different colors and fabrics online:

2 - Mango
3 - Zara
4 - ASOS
5 - TOPSHOP
Shoes - Steve Madden
Sunglasses - Ray Ban
Scarf - TOPSHOP

Back 2 school: Backpack essentials (haul) ♥

Hello stars

I feel so bad... I have not written anything in the last 3 weeks. So sorry, but if you follow me on Instagram ( @alexa3939 ) you will probably now that I was in New York City. And I didn't have the opportunity to write anything + I didn't bring my computer with me. But here I am, back from the death (like Alison haha). This is my first blog post from my new Back 2 school series.
This post is about my favorite Backpack Essentials aka. some of the things that I bought in NYC.

- Of course you need a super cute backpack for all of your school book's. My backpack is from Forever 21

- A cute pencil case is also defiantly a must have. My pencil case is from Paul Frank.

- My best tip for staying organized is getting a cute planner. If I have a pretty planner, it motivates me to write in it every day and simply to stay organized. My planner is from Victoria's secret PINK.

- Another thing that is pretty important if you want to stay organized, is labels that you can stick on your notebooks. My labels are from Target.

- I can't stand dry lips, no matter if it's during a class, on may way to the school or when i'm at home. It's just a No-go for me, so a always carry a lip balm with my. My lip balm is the Maybelline Crystal Baby lips in Pink Quartz and it smells so good!

- You will defiantly need a cool phone case, so your phone doesn't damage every time you drop it. At least it happens for me very often (UPS)... am I the only one??? My phone case/cover is from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

-  Rubbers for all of the BIG MISTAKES. My is from Target.

- Hand sanitizes are super important! My are from Bath and Body Works.

- I'm one of the people that always listen to music when ever I can, so I think I couldn't survive the school without my Beats by Dre Solo.

- I love pink so of course I immediately fell in love with the pens with pink ink from Target.

- Gum is the thing you just need for after school, especially when it take long time for you to get home after school or if you go to a fancy school when it's okay it chew gum. Right now i'm in love with the Icebreakers ice cubes gum from Target.

- Highlighter from Target.

- I always loose my pencils so I bought six this year... so I hope I will have some left when the year is over. My pens are also from... Target.

- Post it's from my mom (not really a place but you can probably buy them at Target hihi)

Pack like a pro with Alexa ✈

Hello stars

I'm flying to New York City tomorrow, so I thought that I could make a guide on how to pack like (almost) a pro. I love packing (am I the only one?), I think my passion about packing began a few years ago, when I saw a gorgeous picture of a suitcase, in a magazine, with the headline: Pack like a pro. It was love at first sight. I remember I looked at the picture for 15 minutes, and I still just can sit and look for new details in the suitcase.
So I decided to share some of my best packing tips with you:

- Roll your socks and put them in your shoes.

- Fold trousers and T-shirts once and roll them to avoid wrinkles.

- Put your shoes in bags and pack them in the side of the suitcase.

- Keep your beauty products in airtight bags to avoid leaking.

- Layer your shirts and dresses with tissue paper and put them in plastic bags to keep them crisp.

- Pack your suitcase in to layers: The larges and most heavy items (shoes, books, beauty products) near the wheels and the clothes that should avoid wrinkles on the top.

- Top with a towel, knit sweater or jacket.

- If you only have a hand baggage remember to have easy access to your beauty products in the case that you should take them out during the security control.

This is a picture of my suitcase. It's not perfect but I'm only 14, so I have long time to make it perfect.
Btw I will probably not be able to write anything in the next two weeks, because I'm not taking my computer with my to New York.

The Body Shop Body Butter Review

Hello stars

I have not done a beauty post for a long time, so I thought that it was the right time to do a little beauty review. A couple of weeks ago I've got a little gift set with four different body butters. I already had two, so today I am going to review six of The Body Shop’s Body Butters. Which is something I have been using in the past month.

Nr. 1: Strawberry

5 out of 5 stars

I have always loved the smell of strawberries, so of course I love this body butter. The strawberry fragrance lasts for at least an hour and then the smell slowly fades. After applying the butter soaks into the skin quickly leaving it hydrated and soft. I really love the packaging of the strawberry body butter and it's one of my favorites. Another thing that I love is that the body butter is pink!

Nr. 2: Shea

1 out of 5 stars

I hate the smell of this body butter, I think it smells like a perfume for men. I don't know why, but I just don't like it. I also think that the packaging is a little boring and I don't think I will buy it again. I am just not a girl that like the smell of nuts (if shea is a nut... I think it is, but i'm blonde so...)

Nr. 3: Olive

4 out of 5

The Olive Body Butter is very natural. It have a nice and natural smell of olives, that I actually like very much. The fragrance is not overpowering and also good for sensitive nose as well. I don't like the color of the packaging, I think it looks old... maybe a weird thing to say (or write) but... that's my opinion. On the other hand, I really like the fresh green color of the butter.

Nr. 4: Moringa

3 out of 5 stars

This body butter smells weird (like a moringa flower I think), I personally don't really like the smell. Thankfully the fragrance isn't very strong and doesn't last very long. The butter is hydrating and makes my skin very soft. It's not one f my favorites, but on the other hand, my mom loves it, so I think it depends from person to person.

Nr. 5: Pink Grapefruit

3 out of 5 star

In the beginning I loved it, the smell was amazing the packaging and color of the cream gorgeous - the whole thing was perfect and the body butter was my favorite. So why only 3 stars? The packaging and the color of the butter haven't changed - it's still super pretty. The smell... is just... I don't like it. I don't know how it happened, but after a week of using the product, I just think that the smell change (is it even possible?). Again, maybe it's just me.

Nr. 6: Lemon

5 out of 5 stars

The Lemon Body Butter is also one of my favorites. The smell is very nice and fresh - I sometimes want to eat it... UPS. Maybe it's just me but I think the lemon butter is lighter and easier to apply than the others. I love the bright yellow color of the packaging as swell as the light yellow color of the butter.
